Position Title: Assistant Crew Chief/Drilling Technician (Transportation Engineering Technician IV)

Duties & Responsibilities

This position is responsible for conducting the subsurface testing and sampling operations in accordance with American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) procedures under the general supervision of the Drilling Crew Chief. The engineering data obtained through this testing and sampling is utilized for the foundation design of the highway and related structures, environmental studies, and for slope stability and pavement support.

Job Requirements

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Five (5) years of experience in technical engineering related work in the areas of design, traffic, construction, materials testing, engineering surveys, maintenance, or planning.

Selective Qualification: Two and a half (2.5) years of the required experience must have involved performing drilling operations for geotechnical investigations.
