Century Engineering, LLC is seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to work at our Hunt Valley, MD office on a wide range of interesting projects including NPDES/ TMDL, stormwater management, water resources, and transportation related projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.


Qualified applicants must have:

• 4 to 10 years of project experience in water resources engineering

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Environmental, or other related Engineering with an emphasis in water resources

• Professional Engineering license, or plan to obtain within 12 months

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Strong motivation to develop a range of water resources design skills and to work with a team approach

• Experience using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or ArcMAP/GIS

• Design experience in storm drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, hydrologic/ hydraulic modeling, or NPDES/ TMDL related services

• Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving practices


Desired (preferred) qualifications include:

• Maryland Professional Engineering License

• Related MDOT and Maryland design experience

• Experience with HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), floodplain modeling, dam breach and bridge scour analysis

• Experience obtaining sediment and stormwater approvals from Maryland County Soil Conservation Districts, MDE Plan Review Division, and MDE Dam Safety Division


Some typical types of work assignments for this position are outlined below:


• Prepare designs for drainage, stormwater management and erosion and sediment control

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling analyses

• Perform field investigations and evaluate existing conditions

• Prepare engineering documents (plans, specifications, estimates) for review and approval

• Assist with permitting for local, state, and federal agency approvals

• Occasionally travel to project/client sites to complete tasks or attend meetings
