Century Engineering is seeking an engineer or environmental scientist to join our Water and Environmental Resources team to perform stream, wetland, and ecosystem assessments, restoration design, construction oversight, and post-construction monitoring services for a range of project types and clients in Maryland and throughout the mid-Atlantic region.


Required Experience/Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing stream and ecosystem assessments, restoration design, construction oversight, and post-construction monitoring services

• B.S. in civil, environmental engineering or similar, geology, or in environmental science is required

• Strong understanding and design experience relating to stream and outfall restoration utilizing multiple restoration methodologies

• Experience preparing construction plans, specifications, technical design reports, and quantity estimates

• Proficiency with field-based geomorphic assessment techniques, functional assessments and restoration construction oversight

• Competency with AutoCAD and Civil 3-D

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Occasionally travel to project/client sites to complete tasks or attend meeting


Desired Experience:

• Familiarity with the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and MS4 permit requirements

• Construction document preparation including construction plans, estimates, and specifications

• Familiarity with the Chesapeake Bay Expert Panel Papers and nutrient reduction computation protocols

• Ability to work with MicroStation and ArcGIS

• Capable of completing hydrology and hydraulic assessments including, but not limited to, TR-55, TR-20, GISHydroNXT, and HEC-RAS (1-D)

• Understanding of HEC-RAS 2-D modeling

• Rosgen Training (Levels I-IV)

• Knowledge of stormwater and storm drain design, erosion and sediment control design and wetland restoration design and monitoring

• Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving practices
