Duties & Responsibilities
McCormick Taylor's Baltimore, MD office is seeking a certified EIT or PE with a BS in Civil Engineering and 2-10 years' experience with an emphasis on water resources. The Water Resources Group projects range from drainage improvements and flood studies to storm drain design, stormwater retrofits, dam breach analyses and design, MS4 support, coastal and riverine flood resiliency, sediment control design, and stream restoration. This position provides the opportunity to apply innovative techniques for design and construction of stormwater management systems for transportation and public works clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling using WinTR-55/TR-20, HEC-RAS, Inroads Storm and Sanitary, Open Roads, XP-SWMM, TUFLOW and other software packages
Collection and analysis of field data, as-built plans and engineering reports to establish existing conditions and identify components of design.
Design of stormwater management systems for water quality and quantity control, including design of Code 378 dam embankments
Preparation of drainage, soil erosion and sediment control, utility relocation, right-of-way, staging and construction plans, specifications and engineering estimates for water resources and transportation projects
Development of topographic and base mapping using GIS and MicroStation
Occasional construction oversight of water resources improvement projects
The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of Hydrologic and Hydraulic principles and practices
The candidate must have hands-on experience using MicroStation and GIS
Familiarity with Maryland projects preferred; additional states in Mid-Atlantic a plus
In addition, the candidate will be expected to be proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Power Point at a minimum
Job Requirements
Education Required:
The successful candidate must possess a BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Water Resources
An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required; Maryland Registered PE a plus
