Duties & Responsibilities

Annapolis, Maryland based forensic engineering company is seeking a PE Civil/Structural engineer to work full time on failure investigations in our expanding Civil Division. Our assignments are mainly for insurance and legal clients and involve evaluation of residential, commercial, or industrial properties. Investigations typically involve water intrusion, storm damage, construction defects, structural failures, shoring/repairs, fire damage, collapse, settlement, etc. The assignments will involve evaluation and repair of existing structures. Most of our work is within the Baltimore/Washington DC Metropolitan Area with travel less than a 2-hour drive from Annapolis and occasional travel beyond the region.

The position is full time and hours depend on assignment volume. Assignment scheduling is flexible. Work location is flexible.

Job Requirements

• Civil Engineering degree with experience in structural engineering design, construction, or roofing.

• Maryland PE license required for this position, additional state PE licenses a plus. Additional specialties and certifications a plus. Applicants who are eligible to be licensed within 1 year will also be considered.

• Must pass a criminal background check.

• Must provide expert testimony for court cases on an as-needed basis. Prior court qualification and testimony a plus.
