Duties & Responsibilities
Stantec is seeking a highly motivated, ambitious, EIT/Designer to provide storm drain, stormwater management, and other related hydraulic engineering services for our transportation team in our Laurel or Towson, Maryland office. The position will offer the opportunity to work on small and large roadway, trail and transit projects, in urban and rural settings, that are located in Maryland as well as other areas of the Mid-Atlantic region.
Perform Roadway or Trail and Drainage design for a variety of clients and project scope
Utilize MicroStation to assist team in preparation of plans and construction documents
Perform Field Work to gather data on existing conditions
Prepare documents, design, and reports to obtain permits and approvals
Compute quantity and construction cost estimates
Work in a group setting to support other disciplines
Develop storm drain design and SWM analysis reports.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support SWM.
Perform Culvert and bridge hydraulic analysis, including scour analysis.
Job Requirements
Experience in all aspects of storm runoff and hydrology
Experience with CAD design software (Microstation)
Experience related to storm water management, Storm Drain Design, and erosion and sediment control design for developing construction plans.
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models, including HEC-RAS
Experience in roadway drainage.
Job Preferences
Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering
Relevant transportation engineering experience: 2 years
Certified EIT or FE
