October Meeting: Mentoring in Civil Engineering

Speaker:  Dan Sheer, P.E., Ph.D.
After earning his Ph.D. in Geography and Environmental Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, Dan joined the Interstate Commission on the Potomac where obtained his P.E. and helped put in place the CO-OP section which continues to ensure reliable water supply for the Washington Metro Area. That effort earned Honorable Mention in the ASCE Outstanding Civil Engineering Award competition. In 1985 he founded HydroLogics Inc., a very small company that helped resolve a wide range of water disputes nationally and internationally. HydroLogics helped manage water resources in basins containing about 20% of the US population. Dan was honored with the ASCE Edmund Friedman Young Engineer's Award. He is the 2017 recipient of the ASCE Environmental and Water Resources Institute's Julian Hinds Award for "bringing leadership and vision to water management in the U.S. and internationally, for pioneering the collaborative modeling processes, and for technological innovations in water resource systems management including development of systems, optimization tools and the reservoir operations software, OASIS."  Dan is also a Life Member of ASCE.

Additionally, you will be invoiced, via email, for payment in the event you cancel, after this deadline or do not attend the event. You will not have to pay if you cancel your registration prior to this deadline.
